Deandra Pekrul is interested in high-speed and macro photography. This photograph is from a series of powder portraits that are an exploration of the moment of impact. They are part of a larger body of abstract images that explore the interaction of different substances. Deandra’s imagery is the result of her interest in the balance between the unpredictability of the ingredients and her ability to control them. She calls it "controlling coincidence."
