Eden Graham (she/her) is a Toronto-based portrait photographer whose creative endeavours are inspired by magic and explorations of personal identity. Taking an experimental approach, she strives to create enchanting, whimsical imagery that is both nuanced and introspective.
Part of a larger series called, Friday the 13th, these images focus on her grandfather and his struggle with newly-diagnosed dementia. The series gets its title from a tattoo on his finger that he got about three years ago. Reading “Fri 13-15,” the tattoo signifies Friday the 13th, 2015, in honour of the motorcycle rallies that occur in Port Dover, Ontario every Friday the 13th — events to which her grandfather has never had any relation. After discovering this mysterious, seemingly meaningless tattoo, Eden created this series to follow her grandfather on the emotional journey through his diagnosis and to shine a light on the struggles families face as a result of this terrible condition.
