Emily Hall is an architectural photographer whose choice of subject comes from her interest in asymmetrical structure. She photographically alters the constructed environment to create surrealist imagery stripped of all detail until it is hardly recognizable. Tactile engagement is a crucial component of Emily’s work. Experimenting with different supports, such as canvas and metallic paper, has allowed her work to achieve a three-dimensional quality in her final prints. Emily has built this work to create a transcendent view of subject and place, which challenges our understanding of architectural imagery.
