The concept of femininity as expressed on male subjects was the exploration that Hannah focused on when beginning her project. As she continued to photograph her subjects, she realized she was beginning to challenge the stereotypical societal views of masculinity and she became intrigued with the idea of breaking these social constructs, so heavily reinforced by pop culture. With this body of work, Hannah aimed to relay the dissonance and dysphoria with which many of the subjects often struggle. The goal was to create images that are aesthetically pleasing, while leaving the viewer to feel confused, slightly disturbed, and ultimately to challenge their personal associations and connotations regarding the importance of gender identification in society.
