Hawke is a documentary photographer who focuses on black and white and low-tone photography. He enjoys capturing any form of photography, even if it’s just a quick snapshot. In his view, all photos have meaning and significance; in this way, he pursues the purest form of image-making. The images shown here are part of a larger series in which Hawke uses the diptych format to document the relationships between people and food, which often reveal people’s attitudes toward life.
