Originally from the small town of Magnetawan, Ontario, Krystel Bankley is a portrait and documentary photographer currently based in Oakville. This series is part of a larger photobook project that documents Krystel’s home and life in Magnetawan, depicting her experience growing up in a low-income household without hydro, internet, or running water. With this work, Krystel aims to provide insight into a different way of living. The larger series also documents the transition from Magnetawan to Oakville and explores the differences between these two places.
