Vanessa Hill

Vanessa Hill is a Brantford-based Indigenous portrait photographer who specializes in documenting people in an intimate way. Her work explores the human body, culture, love, and intimacy. As a biracial woman, Vanessa is fulfilled by creating elegant and feminine work that speaks to her culture. These images are from a larger body of work in which she explores her own personal journey of learning to connect with her Native heritage. Each person in this series is Indigenous, despite their skin colour or physical features. As Vanessa insists, “never judge a book by its colour.”
